Law Firm Website Design in Savannah, GA

Law firms face a specific challenge – when someone needs legal help, they’re often stressed, scared, or dealing with a crisis. They’re searching on their phone at midnight after an accident, or sitting in their car after getting arrested, or finally deciding to file for divorce. Your website needs to make them feel like they found the right lawyer immediately.

I’m Benjamin, and I’ve been designing websites for law firms in Savannah, GA for 15 years. I know what makes potential clients trust you enough to pick up the phone, and what makes them click away to the next attorney’s site.

What Actually Matters on Law Firm Websites

People Need to Trust You Fast

When someone lands on your law firm website, they’re making a snap judgment. Does this firm look legitimate? Do these attorneys seem experienced? Can I trust them with my case?

Professional design matters here. Not fancy – professional. Clean layout, good photos of your actual attorneys (not stock photos), and information presented clearly. Your site needs to look as established and credible as you actually are.

They Want to Know Who You Are

Generic “our firm” language doesn’t cut it. People want to know about the actual attorneys who’ll handle their case. Where did you go to law school? How long have you practiced? What types of cases do you handle most? Have you gotten good results for clients?

I build detailed attorney profile pages that answer these questions without feeling like a resume. More like you’re sitting across from a potential client explaining your background.

Your Practice Areas Need Their Own Space

If you practice personal injury, criminal defense, and family law, those shouldn’t all be crammed onto one “services” page. Each practice area deserves its own page explaining that specific type of law, what clients typically face, and how you help them.

This helps with local search visibility too. When someone searches for a personal injury lawyer near them, Google needs to see a dedicated page about personal injury – not a general page mentioning it once.

Real Results from Law Firm Sites

Built a website for a criminal defense attorney who left a big firm to start his own practice. His biggest challenge was establishing credibility as a solo practitioner despite having solid experience. We focused his site on his actual trial experience and case results. Within three weeks, he was getting consultation requests from people who specifically mentioned his trial record they saw on the website.

Redesigned a site for an established family law firm whose 2012 website looked outdated and didn’t work on phones. The managing partner was frustrated – they’d been practicing for years but kept losing potential clients to firms with better websites. New site went live and their consultation requests jumped 150% within six months. Most cited the website as why they chose to call.

Worked with a personal injury firm getting decent traffic but terrible conversion. People were visiting but not contacting them. We added more client testimonials, made the phone number impossible to miss, and simplified the contact process. Consultation requests doubled without changing their traffic numbers at all.

Getting Found in Legal Searches

Local SEO for Law Firms

When someone searches for a lawyer, you’re competing with dozens of other firms. The ones showing up at the top aren’t necessarily the best lawyers – they’re the ones with properly optimized websites.

I optimize law firm sites for searches like “personal injury lawyer near me,” “criminal defense attorney,” “family law,” and dozens of other relevant combinations that potential clients use. Each practice area page targets specific searches people actually make when they need legal help.

Your Google Business Profile matters too. When people search Google Maps for lawyers, you want to appear in those map results with good reviews, photos, and accurate information.

Content That Ranks and Helps

Regular blog posts about Georgia law changes, legal tips, or explanations of complex legal concepts do two things – they help you rank for more searches and they demonstrate expertise to potential clients reading them.

Someone researching “what to do after a car accident in Georgia” might find your blog post, read it, and then call you because you clearly know what you’re talking about.

Different Practice Areas, Different Approaches

A personal injury firm’s website needs to feel empathetic and accessible. You’re dealing with people who got hurt and are worried about medical bills. The design should be professional but warm, with testimonials from satisfied clients and clear information about free consultations.

A criminal defense attorney’s site needs to feel serious and protective. People are scared about criminal charges. The site should emphasize protecting rights, confidential consultations, and experience with the local court system.

Family law requires a balance – professional and knowledgeable but also compassionate. People going through divorces or custody battles are emotionally exhausted. The website shouldn’t add to that stress.

Business law clients want efficiency and expertise. They’re not emotional – they need legal work done competently. The site should be straightforward, professional, and focused on business results.

Making Contact Easy When People Need You

Someone who needs a lawyer doesn’t want to hunt around your website trying to figure out how to reach you. Your phone number should be visible on every page, clickable on mobile devices. Contact forms should be simple – name, phone, brief description of their issue. That’s it.

Online consultation scheduling helps too, especially for practice areas where people aren’t dealing with emergencies. Estate planning clients, for example, often prefer scheduling online rather than playing phone tag.

Physical office location matters for local clients. Show where you’re located, include directions, mention parking availability. Clients want to know they can actually meet with you in person.

Ethical Compliance and Georgia Bar Rules

Law firm websites have to follow specific rules. You can’t make guarantees about results. You need proper disclaimers about attorney-client relationships. Marketing language has to be truthful and not misleading.

I’m familiar with Georgia Bar advertising rules and build compliant websites. Proper disclaimers, accurate information, ethical presentation of case results – all handled correctly so you don’t have bar complaints to deal with.

Security matters too. Contact forms need to be secure. Privacy policies need to be clear. Potential clients need confidence that their information is protected when they reach out to your firm.

Why Template Sites Fail for Law Firms

I’ve seen too many attorneys waste money on cheap template sites. They look vaguely professional but don’t convert visitors into clients. Generic stock photos, cookie-cutter content that could describe any firm, poor mobile experience, and zero local SEO optimization.

You end up with a site that technically exists but doesn’t actually help your practice grow. That’s not a website – that’s a business card that costs $50 a month.

Investment in Your Practice Growth

A good law firm website generates cases. When people need legal help and search for attorneys, you want to be found, trusted immediately, and contacted. That’s what a properly built site does.

Most of my law firm clients see consultation requests increase within months, with better-qualified leads who already understand their practice areas and feel confident about reaching out.
